Students arrive at our language school bringing with them life stories, future plans, and different motivations for learning Italian.
The school often represents their first contact with Italian culture and mindset. Here, students receive plenty of information about what to visit in the area, exchange advice, and support each other in gaining knowledge on how to begin and sustain their journey in Italy. We are like a family and also a communication platform: a gateway to Italy through language and various extracurricular activities, held in the afternoons and on days off.
Karin and Roger attended an intensive Italian course last April.
So, what motivated them to come to us?
Karin and Roger simply left Germany behind and settled in an olive grove near Bajardo. Karin left her job as an IT specialist at a university, while Roger already had experience managing a farm and an organic shop. Their goal is to develop a vegetable garden with organic farming and to revitalize the olive trees over the next few years, aiming for self-sufficiency and olive oil production.
What can help them and speed up the process of building an organic farm is the “Workaway” program: a perfect holiday option for those willing to work a bit in exchange for food and accommodation offered by the hosts.
For now, Karin and Roger look to the future with peace of mind, devoting their lives to the idea of living in the mountains of beautiful Liguria, surrounded by nature and far from civilization — the nearest village is a 5 km uphill walk.
Their farm is located in a sunny valley and can be reached by electric bike, car, or on foot.
